At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.

Travelling by car

Entry is via Kingston Lane only. On arrival, please request a permit for the day from the main reception desk in the Eastern Gateway Building (image below).

Pay-and-display parking is also available on site but there are limited spaces. Parking Charge Notices will be issued for illegally parked vehicles.

From the M4

Leave the M4 at Junction 4, follow signs to Uxbridge (A408) and Brunel University. Those taking the M25 should join the M4 or M40.

From the A40/M40

At Swakeleys Roundabout take B483 exit to Uxbridge. Follow signs across two mini-roundabouts.

Access by car for registered disabled visitors

Disabled parking bays are available at various locations around the campus. Please collect a permit from reception in the Eastern Gateway Building on arrival.

On campus parking

Parking restrictions are operational between 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Parking on campus is limited for events taking place on weekdays. On a weekday, you can request a parking permit or collect one from reception when you arrive, but it does not guarantee a space to park. For events taking place at weekends permits are not required and ample parking is usually available.

We advise that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of an event to allow for parking.

We also have a limited number of Pay & Display spaces on campus at a cost of £1 per hour.

Disabled badge holders

Please email reception@brunel.ac.uk to request a permit as detailed above but stating disabled badge holder in the subject line along with the date as follows: '22 February (with no space) disabled badge holder.' All blue badge holders will be eligible to apply for a parking permit. Accessible parking is available across the campus.

Out of hours parking

Parking restrictions are operational between 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

You may use the Pay and Display car parks free of charge out of hours. Please press the security call button for access. You may also park in a red dot or student bay without a valid parking permit.

Parking is not permitted in:

  • any accessible bay unless you are displaying a valid disabled persons blue badge
  • double yellow lines
  • yellow hatched areas
  • green reserved bays
  • or an area likely to cause an obstruction.

Student parking

If you are a student who lives outside a two-mile radius of Brunel you may apply for an annual parking permit (chargeable) online via eVision. You must be fully enrolled to be eligible to apply.

Parking for coaches/minibuses

Coaches and minibuses should enter campus via Kingston Lane. You must turn left at the first roundabout and drive around the south perimeter road (South Loop Road) to the designated coach/minibus bays. The bays are located opposite the Heinz Wolff Building and are clearly marked. There are no other parking bays for coaches.

From Heathrow Central

A10 Heathrow Fast, every 15 minutes, journey time approx. 25 minutes (alight The Greenway and use river footpath to campus)

From West Drayton railway station

By train

By underground (London Transport)

Take the westbound Metropolitan Line to Uxbridge (approx. 40 mins from Baker Street station).

Or take the westbound Piccadilly Line to Uxbridge (approx. 45-50 mins from Earl’s Court station).

You can then take a taxi, bus (see above for recommended bus services) or walk to campus.

By rail

West Drayton (First Great Western Link) is the nearest mainline station, approx 1.5 miles from the campus.

Services run from London Paddington (approx. 20 mins journey time) or from the West (Bristol). West Ruislip Station (Chiltern Railways) is the mainline service from London Marylebone (approx. 20 mins journey time) and the North (Aylesbury, Banbury and Birmingham) and is approx. 4 miles from the campus.

Walking

The walk from Uxbridge to Brunel is approx. one mile.

From the main exit of Uxbridge tube station, take the road almost directly in front in you (between HSBC and the Old Market building) into Windsor Street.

At the bottom of Windsor Street, turn left and cross the dual carriageway via the light-controlled crossing.

Bear left and then walk straight on to Whitehall Road.

It is then a 15-minute walk along Whitehall Road and over the crossroads onto Cleveland Road. The main University Reception can be found by following the path through the centre of the University to the Eastern Gateway Building.

By bike

Uxbridge campus is on a signposted cycle route, which passes through the middle of the campus, along Cleveland Road. Cycle storage facilities are located around the campus, and some halls of residence have enclosed cycle storage areas, and showers with changing facilities are available within the Sports Centre for use by student and staff cyclists.

Attendees from countries that require a UK visa for entry are reminded that the process of obtaining a visa may take approximately 3 weeks time under normal circumstances. Please email support@icict.co.uk to request a visa invitation letter so that you can print and use in obtaining a visa.

Obtaining a Visa Support Letter from ICICT 2020 Conference will not guarantee that your U.K. visa application will be approved. The letter is merely supplementary information that explains a visa applicant's intended purpose of travel to United Kingdom

For security purposes, the conference has policy for issuing official Visa Support Letters as follows:

  • Visa Support Letters will be issued only after you have successfully registered and paid for your conference.
  • Visa Support Letters can only be issued for the person registered to attend the conference in form of participant, author, chair and speaker. Unfortunately we cannot issue visa Support Letters for guests of participants.

You can’t go far in London without stumbling across one of the city’s iconic attractions. A 40-minute walk along the South Bank will take you past Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge. There are also eight Royal Parks to explore, and over 300 museums and galleries, many offering free admission.
